Kendall, a community advocate and small business owner, has served on countless community boards and volunteer organizations within east Dallas and the Democratic Party for two decades. When he ran for Texas House, District 114, the RunForSomething website said, "he will fight to fully fund our public schools, expand access to healthcare, reduce property taxes, and roll-back the dangerous right-wing agenda that has done so much damage to Texas that we’re struggling to even keep the lights on."
His Linkedin page says he is a principal at Armadilla Strategies. His services include Email Marketing, Digital Marketing, Political Consulting, Brand Design, Social Media Marketing, Web Development, Advertising, and Direct Mail Marketing. Combining grassroots talent with modern campaign strategies to advance the progressive message and win elections across the Lone Star State.
He is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Communication Studies. He seems to be doing a Master of Professional Studies, Political Management at The George Washington University (2020-2025). He is vice-chair for Finance for the Texas Democratic Party from 2022 until present. He was a board member of the City of Dallas Civil Service Board, Sept 2019 to August 2021.

Ms Steward is 31 years old and has lived in Texas and in Dallas County for over 7 years in a rental property. She lists her occupation as "Strategy and Investments Associate".  She is single. 
She says, " I am not a career politician (nor do I have aspirations to be), I am just a resident who saw an opportunity to help my community with my real estate background. To give you a few more details on myself: I am originally from Columbus, GA, but moved to Dallas County in 2016. I currently work for Stream Data Centers.
1. Why are you running for the Board?
- I am running for the Board to ensure that every person protesting their taxes feels that they are treated fairly and with dignity and respect, to provide thoughtful oversight of the appraisal district’s protocol and policy throughout the lens of a former appraiser, and to demand that the DCAD is the best appraisal district in the state of Texas.
2. What do you hope to accomplish as a member of the Assessment Board?
- As a part of the board, I am aiming to ensure that the district is advocating for homeowners and ensuring awareness of available tax exemptions like homestead exemptions and senior tax deferment. I also want to ensure homeowners are getting fair and equitable appraisals across the board and that commercial properties are held accountable for paying their fair share of taxes.
3. What skills, aptitudes, or attitudes do you bring to this position?
- I have been in the real estate space (all on the commercial side) since 2016 in various capacities. I worked for 6 years at CBRE (one the largest commercial real estate companies in the world) with 3 of those years being an appraiser for medical office, office, and industrial properties. I am excited to bring my experience to the Board. I also think it is important to have a mix of representation on the Board. A fresh set of eyes on existing policies and procedures could bring about new ideas or reconfirm existing policies, but I think it’s important to have people from all ages and all walks of life to represent everyone in Dallas County.


4. Are you a homeowner?
- I am currently not a homeowner. I have rented my duplex in the east Dallas area for the last 7 years.  Although I am not a current homeowner, I certainly want to be in the future within Dallas County. As a single income (it’s just me and my dog) household, homeownership with the current market/rates has proven to be difficult. But not being a homeowner does not exclude me from feeling the implications of property taxes. My home is owned by a local owner and any property tax increases are in turn passed through to the tenant (me)."
